Reward Paid For Tip That Led To Homicide Arrest in Poughkeepsie

New York State Crime Stoppers, acting as a resource for the New York State Police BCI, Rhinebeck Barracks and the Hyde Park Police recently paid a reward to a tipster who provided information that led to the arrest and recent conviction of William McKinney who pled guilty regarding the death of Jershua Christie.

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, The New York State Police and Hyde Park Police responded to the grounds of the former Hudson River Psychiatric Center in Hyde Park, NY where they found a woman deceased lying on the ground who was identified as Jershua Christie of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.  A reward was offered, by New York State Crime Stoppers the following day at the request of the New York State Police in their effort to solve the case. Within a short time after the reward was offered an anonymous tip was received that led New York State Police investigators to the person responsible for her death.

NYS Crime Stoppers offers rewards for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for particular felony crimes within the borders of New York State.
