New York State Crime Stoppers sponsors several programs to reward concerned citizens for submitting anonymous information on crimes committed in the state. These anonymous tips are forwarded to the relevant law enforcement agency(-ies), including local, county, state, and federal agencies, as appropriate.

If an anonymous tip submitted to our tip line regarding a crime covered under one of our programs leads to the arrest and conviction of a suspect or fugitive, and contains information that the relevant agency(-ies) did not already obtain through their own investigations, then the caller who provided the tip becomes eligible for a reward of up to $2,500 as determined by the Board of Directors.

Featured Reward Offerings – Violent Crimes

Participating police agencies throughout New York State contact us when they need assistance in solving a particular crime or recovering a particular fugitive. NYS Crime Stoppers highlights that particular crime or fugitive here on our website, as well as through press releases and flyers, offering rewards of up to $2,500 for anonymous information. Members of the public may submit information by calling the tip line at (866) 313-TIPS (8477).

NYS Crime Stoppers has partnered with IRS Criminal Investigation to empower citizens to assist in investigations of financial and tax crimes, offering rewards of up to $2,500 for anonymous information. Members of the public may submit information on individuals or organizations involved in such crimes by calling the NYS Crime Stoppers tip line at (866) 313-TIPS (8477).

NEW! Pet Rescue Program – Animal Abuse & Neglect

In cooperation with animal control and law enforcement agencies across the state, the NYS Crime Stoppers Pet Rescue program allows members of the public to help fight against animal cruelty, abuse, and neglect. For a reward of up to $2,500, concerned citizens may anonymously submit information on the abuse, neglect, or cruel treatment of a pet or other domesticated animal by calling our tip line at (866) 313-TIPS (8477).

Terrorism Reporting Reward Program

NYS Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $2,500 for anonymous information on terrorist activity. Concerned citizens may call our tip line at (866) 313-TIPS (8477) to submit information.

NYS Crime Stoppers has partnered with the New York State Police to offer rewards of up to $2,500 for anonymous information on the unlawful use, possession, and/or distribution of drugs and controlled substances. Concerned citizens may call our tip line at (866) 313-TIPS (8477) to submit information.

Environmental Crimes Reporting Reward Program
