New York State Crime Stoppers assisting the Washington County Sheriffs Office is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the Hit & Run resulting in a woman’s death.
At approximately 18:05 hrs on Thursday, February 9, 2015, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal vehicle pedestrian accident that occurred on State Road 29 in Middle Falls, N.Y. As a result of this crash, Shirley Coon, age 81 was pronounced dead at the scene. It was determined by investigators that a second car in this crash actually hit the victim first causing her to fall into the opposite lane of traffic where she was again struck by vehicle. The vehicle who first struck the victim fled the scene.
The vehicle that struck the victim first is believed to be a Dodge, Chrysler or Plymouth van/minivan from the late 1990’s to the mid or late 2000’s. This vehicle is believed to have had damage to the driver’s side headlight assembly and possibly the passenger side mirror.
