Wanted: Justice For Stephen D. Forbes

NYS Crime Stoppers in cooperation with The NYS Police, Oneida Major Crimes Unit is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Stephen D. Forbes.

On July 11, 1980 Stephen D. Forbes, age: 28, 373 Village Green Apartments, Baldwinsville, NY, was reported missing by family members, having been last seen on July 8th at approximately 12:00 Noon. Mr. Forbes had been driving his blue 1977 Dodge pickup which was later discovered parked unattended in the long term parking lot at Hancock Airport in Syracuse. The truck is believed to have been parked in the lot shortly after 3:00 PM on July 8, 1980. During the investigation it was reported that Mr. Forbes had been seen leaving a friend’s residence on Vine St. in Liverpool, NY at approximately 2:00 PM on July 8, 1980.  Mr. Forbes was a business partner with William Wallberger in the “Novel -T Shirt Store” on Route 48, Phoenix, NY. On August 19, 1980, the body of Mr. Forbes was discovered in a heavily wooded area off of a small dirt roadway leading South off Route 20, in the Town of Lafayette, Onondaga County. Also located in this area was discarded construction debris and garbage.
