Reward offered in John “Gus” DeFreese Cold Case Homicide (NYSCS Case# 2014-12)

New York State Crime Stoppers in cooperation with the Town of Ramapo Police Department is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible the Death of John “Gus” DeFreese. Any information, however insignificant it may seem, could help to solve this case.

At approximately 7:52 on Wednesday, April 24, 1985, Mr. DeFreese was found deceased, slumped behind the wheel of his 1976 Honda Civic along Brandt Road Road, a mountain road in Hillburn, N.Y.  The victim had been stabbed in the neck and throat with a broken beer bottle.

Any information, however insignificant it may seem could help to solve this case. The App will generate a confidential ID number needed to collect the reward should the tip qualify for reward payment.
