New York State Crime Stoppers in cooperation with the Yorktown Police Department is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fatal Hit & Run of a seventy two year old female. Any information, however insignificant it may seem could help to solve this case.
On Thursday, February 20, 2014, between approximately 5:40pm and 6:00pm, Georgia M. Turner, a seventy-two year old female was walking home Westbound on East Main Street in Jefferson Valley and was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle also moving in a Westbound direction. She was later found deceased in the entrance to her driveway. The vehicle involved would have minor damage to the right front headlight and possibly fender area. No description of the vehicle is available at this time. The Yorktown Police are actively investigating this case.
